One Year of Doing What I Love—At Work and Beyond
Feb 12, 2025Eighteen months ago, I walked away from corporate life. One year ago, I faced an even bigger decision.
Recruiters were reaching out. Stability was an option. On paper, going back made perfect sense.
But deep down, I knew—I had to trust my gut.
So I bet on myself. I chose not to return to the corporate world and instead committed fully to building my own company as a High-Performance Coach and Leadership Advisor.
The Crossroads of Change
Career transitions are rarely straightforward. Even when you have experience and clarity, stepping into the unknown is never easy.
After nearly two decades at L’Oréal, I found myself at a crossroads:
• Step into another corporate role?
• Or take everything I had learned and use it to create impact in a new way?
I chose the latter.
My mission became clear: help ambitious professionals and executives elevate their energy, performance, and leadership—so they can thrive with clarity, confidence, and impact.
But making this decision didn’t mean the path ahead was easy.
The Path Wasn’t Always Clear
Looking back, I realize I’ve faced big career decisions before.
In 2013, I took an 18-month break from L’Oréal—a decision that shaped me in ways I couldn’t have predicted. When I decided to return, I was completely upfront in my interviews. I shared what I had studied, my passion for yoga, coaching, and leadership, and the insights I had gained during my time away. I didn’t hold back.
And they rehired me—not just for who I was, but for the experience, growth, and contributions that had shaped me. For that, I’ll always be grateful.
Growth Comes in Many Forms
The second time round, the role stretched and challenged me in ways I hadn’t expected. It pushed me to apply everything I had learned about high performance—along with mindfulness and yoga—to stay focused under pressure, bring balance to a demanding environment, and, most importantly, take better care of myself and own that responsibility.
Eventually, I transitioned from Business to Human Resources—where I had to make a choice every day:
• Impact → Creating meaningful change for both the business and its people.
• Authenticity → Leading with integrity and staying true to my values.
• People → Empowering individuals and teams to grow and thrive.
To always choose what is right. And to do that, you need to know your values and truly live by them.
Corporate or Entrepreneurship? It’s Not One or the Other.
That’s why I believe a corporate career can be just as fulfilling as starting something for yourself. It’s not about one being better than the other—it’s about knowing who you are, what you want, and what will challenge you to grow.
For some, the corporate world offers deep learning, leadership opportunities, and the ability to create impact within large organizations. For others, stepping into entrepreneurship brings freedom, creativity, and new challenges. Both paths require courage, resilience, and a willingness to evolve.
Choosing Growth, No Matter the Path
Now, as I reflect on this past year, I see that the biggest decisions—the ones that shape us—aren’t about choosing the “right” path. They’re about choosing the path that pushes us to grow.
Some find that in the corporate world.
Some find that in entrepreneurship.
Both paths can be fulfilling, meaningful, and full of impact.
What matters most is making a choice that aligns with who you are.
Why I Do What I Do
Now, I help ambitious professionals and executives elevate their energy, performance, and leadership—so they can thrive with clarity, confidence, and impact.
Whether through coaching, advising leaders, or exploring opportunities as a Fractional Chief Wellbeing Officer, my mission is simple: to inspire others to lead and perform at their best—while truly enjoying the journey.
